Our Story

Founded in the tradition of the Plum Blossom International Federation, our Winnipeg academy provides world-class instruction in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Yang Tai Chi. We are dedicated to helping students of all ages develop strength, confidence, and lifelong martial arts skills.

Tai Sifu Neil McRitchie

Founder | 7th Degree Black Sash | 40+ Years of Experience

A direct student of Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong, Tai Sifu McRitchie is one of Canada’s most senior Choy Li Fut instructors. His disciplined, thoughtful approach has helped hundreds of students thrive.
Sifu Les McWha

Senior Instructor | 5th Degree Black Sash
A lifelong martial artist and youth mentor, Sifu Les leads many of our kids and teen programs. His instruction emphasizes confidence, form, and mutual respect.

Meet Your Black Belts

SiHing Nelson

SiHing Nelson began training in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu in 2004 and earned his black sash in 2012.
He teaches both kids and adult classes and is known for his calm, focused instruction. He enjoys butterfly knives and the Chinese straight sword, and is an active participant in school events, sparring, and lion dance.
SiHing Gord

Training since 2004, SiHing Gord earned his black sash in 2012.
He teaches adult beginner through advanced classes and specializes in the three-section staff and red tassel spear. He has performed in lion dances and demonstrations and is known for his quiet dedication and skill.
Dai SiJay Tammy

Dai SiJay Tammy started Choy Li Fut in 2008 and achieved her black sash in 2017.
She leads the women’s self-defense program and brings energy and leadership to school events. Her favorite weapons include the straight sword, butterfly knives, and wind & fire wheels.
SiHing Nathan

SiHing Nathan began training in 2014 and earned his black sash in 2022.
He teaches both kids and adult classes and has a passion for hand forms and long weapons—especially the guan do. He also brings experience in Jiu-Jitsu, Arnis, and Kenpo to his teaching.
